Peer Evaluation

James Whelan: "Hey James,
These photos are interesting as the first photo is not from a low viewpoint but from a level height viewpoint. However, I think that you should have used a high viewpoint for the first photo to make the actor look more depressed."

Daniel Reeve: "I really like how the first image uses black and white to emphasize the feelings of sadness and in the second image uses different colours. However, I think that the last image is too bright."

Benedict Pamittan: "In your third image, I like how Daniel has his head down and is explained by his grades displayed on the paper."

Aaron Kustandi: "I like the black and white photo as it emphasizes sadness that the actor/ character in the story got the basketball stuck. However, the coloured photo also looks good as it has dark clouds and the character of the story also has colour."

James Marsden: "I really like the first image as it shows the rivalry between the two teams and has good colours and contrast despite being taken in low light."

The Moment
Photo and story by Thomas Rakuljic

This photo was taken when I was on holidays on a school trip to America. One of the days when we were traveling, we stopped at Pier 41, which is popular for its stores and merchandise. At the time, there was a large truck driving through the pier, this peaked my interest, so I decided to follow this truck in the cold to find it being stocked with crates of fish captured from this boat. That's when I came across this photo. In this photo, the fisherman had just finished stocking the truck with their catch from the sea, unfortunately, I was unable to capture a photo of the fishermen stocking the truck. The photo has fairly dull colours with the only bright colour being the life vests worn by the fishermen, but the concept of the waves crashing to build aesthetic was the main focus in the composition.
