Company logo for the service called incoming

The propellor on the logo is supposed to represent the drone and the clothes hanger is representing the clothes. The company name, I'm still working on, but so far, I have called it incoming instead of CDS (clothes delivery service) because it's shorter.

Idea 1 for the drone delivery clothes service. This concept is based on a drone the 4 circles and the clothes hangar the triangle shape with lines.

Development of the product/service

The service that I have thought of to design was to be a clothe delivery service via drone. The development of the service includes:

  • Gathered ideas from various images like drones and pizza
  • started off as a pizza delivery service
  • Then I thought that maybe it could be a maintenance drone (drone that fixes electrical problems, scans for breaks in piping. etc)
  • now it is a dry cleaned clothes delivery service via drone.

I found this image on google, however, this isn't an actual service/ product and that this style of delivery is not effective in windy weather, rain, hail or sleet or lighting storms.

Coggle product mind map

After the class discussion, I have discovered that Phil and I have the same idea, therefore, I will  change the drone pizza delivery service to a clothe delivery service. Maybe Amazon.

Work completed - 17/10/2016 - The Evolution of the Logo

The Evolution of the Logo
  1. Identify several historical interpretations of the symbol of an apple?
The symbol of an apple has been interpreted and used by several companies. The image of an apple shows western viewers their association with nature, food, the “forbidden fruit” in the Garden of Eden, Snow White and the poisoned apple and Apple computers.

  1. Do you think Apple considered one or all of these symbolic meanings when selecting the name/logo of an apple? Explain.
I think that Apple wasn’t thinking of these symbolic meanings when selecting the name/logo because they were more focused on choosing an image that was easy to see and was trendy.

Summary of observations of logo changes

Identify commonalities between the gradual changes that have taken place within the logo development of the following six companies and suggest what makes a logo successful in the twentieth century?

Commonalities between gradual changes in logos are that they are continuously updating to stay in trend. The things that makes a successful logo are: Simplicity (unique without being overdrawn), Memorable (will others know it by looking at it), Timeless (still effective after a long time), Versatile (applicable on various mediums), Appropriate (intended for its purpose).

We live in a world where everything is evolving. Brands need to reinvent themselves in line with the changing customer preferences and tastes. This is one the the main reasons companies change their logos conveying they are modern, constantly making efforts to to better themselves. For example, the Mercedes logo below has changed so often overtime to stay in fashion of the time period.Image result for mercedes logo evolution
